The Oklahoma Union School Board will be accepting applicants to fill vacant seat #5, which has a 5-year term. To be eligible to be a member of the Oklahoma Union Board of Education, a person must have resided in the district for at least six months preceding the first day of the filing period and have been a registered voter registered with the county election board at an address located within the geographical boundaries of the district for six months preceding the first day of the filing period. APPLICATIONS MUST BE NOTARIZED AND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER MAY 12. Turn in application to Superintendent Brenda Taylor's office located in the OKU HS or by mail at:

Appointees must meet statutory requirements for eligibility, including residency and voter registration timeline requirements.
Since no one filed to run for the seat during the filing period, an appointee need not live within the board election district #5. This is limited by law to one term of office.
Oklahoma Union School will be interviewing candidates and will be appointing a person to fill the spot at the May 14th board meeting.
