CONCLUSION:
It is generally thought by most schools that students are allowed the ten days of absences per semester for school activities. It is also generally accepted that most schools will extend an additional 10 days per year for illnesses. Student and or parents are still required to provide proof of illness by doctor's notes or written instructions to not attend school.
RECCOMENDATIONS:
I. Oklahoma Union students will need to be extremely careful in regards to how many school days and school hours that they miss during a semester .
2. Students may also need to choose a primary sport-or activity and not try to participate in as large a number of activities
3. Sponsors or coaches should begin to schedule as many meetings or activities outside the school day as possible. Sponsor or coaches should also consider a later starting time for after school sports.
4. Students will be still held responsible for academic- success and eligibility regardless of how many absences of any kind are incurred.
