FCCLA Represent Well at National Cluster Meeting
Four Oklahoma Union FCCLA members attended the National Cluster Meeting in Oklahoma City November 17 and 18th. The theme for the conference was “!nspired.” Students were inspired by keynote speakers David Garcia and Jessie Funk. Garcia is a five-language speaking motivational comedian. He was once considered an “at-risk student” himself before graduating with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree. Funk’s passion is to help child and adolescent behavior by building confidence and leadership training.
Members were inspired individually as well. Emma Bowers competed with the FCCLA Knowledge Test and Stetson Miner competed with FCCLA Creed Interpretation. McKenzie Miner and Gus Lowrey gained certification in the Discover Leadership Academy. Mrs. Haddox, their advisor, was a judge for the FCCLA Knowledge Bowl. Students also enjoyed participating in the Impact Community Service Project.
